Because that's really something I can't stand -- when people refer to themselves as crazy. The truly crazy are labled so on the grounds that they see nothing wrong with their behavior. They forge ahead, lighting fires in public buildings and defecating in frying pans without the slightest notion that they are out of step with society. That, to me, is crazy. Calling yourself crazy is not crazy, just obnoxious.

Wish I could've taken a picture of this highschool(?) age girl on the subway: tucked in corner of subway seat, knees up on the next seat, right elbow on seat back, head resting on that hand, eyes closed, head tilted down, light brown hair tucked up, light a little harsh, up and to the left. Reminds me of that one b+w headshot of R. Reminds me I should work on taking more serious portraits.

In Palm news, they released the IIIe, a stripped down IIIx, aimed at the entry market. I gotta upgrade- I hear the screens are much better.

Looking over old KHftCEA, I notice that I don't write the same kind of prose snippets/ proto-lovebite stuff that I use to. Have I become more of an essayist? Lost some kind of ambition?

Went to see Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut" with Mo last night. Very finely crafted, a neat mix of "real life" detail with the fantastic, but ultimately overly scared of sex.

There was one scene where a minor character is dealing with the loss of her ailing father, who died while under home care. It reminded me of how I snuck out without saying good morning or good bye to my dad the day he died.  Mom says that he probably wasn't able to concentrate on anything but staying alive at that point.  Still, it seems like a surpreme act of "can't ever take it back" cowardice.

Given my recent "novelty seeking behavior" revelation, I was surprised I wasn't more on the side of Tom Cruise's character in the movie, who cheats his way into a bizarre ritualistic orgy.  There's another side of my novelty seeking behavior, something about the importance of pushing boundaries, not breaking them.
