may 28 - the imperial war museum, and farewell to london

bye bye little apartment with your banksy art

amber in motion

we had only half a day, but we decided to use it at the imperial war museum.... pretty decent call on our part

man those are some big shells

planes! missiles!

jets! tanks!

the mark i tank -- the code name for these guys gave us the word "tank" actually

amber though "cool a one person tank" but really it was for 3!

V2 rockte.

baby's gas mask fitting...

PLEASE KNIT NOW.

the tourguide was a bit so-so... a bit too much time talking about the less spectacular exhibits in the main room, a recoilless wwi gun and...

...and a london double decker bus that happened to see military service in wwi

more wax figures, from their big reproduction of the wwi trenches.

an old pre-ww2 war game

wow, each soldier takes 4 tonnes of wheat?

the enigma code machine... i practically had a nerdgasm seeing this in real life

this used to be atop of the german parliament... good ending to the ww2 stuff.

actually, a better ending to the ww2 stuff...

i love saddam's cheesy grin in this calendar from an exhibit on the first gulf war

oy. frightening to see this after having been there myself so recently...

i just liked how they had little metal pitchers for cream in the cafeteria. really tasty stew there.

there were tons of military folks walking around... i asked one of them, he said most of them were just on break from basic training, but also a lot of them seemed to be taking notes...

i liked the matte green of this rav4.

walking back to the tube...

i love the look right, look left they put next to the curb at crosswalks...

amber overcoming her nervouesness of escalators...

on the last day there it was the big match between barcelona and manchester united... lots of barcelona fans singing songs and chants through the halls of the tube stations...

finally.... bike emts at heathrow...
