While I don't want to give the impression I'm a walking, talking, "This American Life" portal, I do want to tell you that you can hear a good amount of Thomas Lynch reading from his excellent autobio/essay novel _The Undertaking_ at http://www.thislife.org/pages/descriptions/97/60.html . Lynch was making undertaking look good (and quite functional) long before "Six Feet Under" made it hip, heh.
