Back in the sepia-toned days of the 20th century Boston even had a "hockey" team, known for their ursine tendencies. I don't think snopes has had the opportunity to debunk this yet.

(Hope the sport survives...I guess I'm on the owners side, in the sense of I see the good things that the salary cap has done for the NFL.)
We also have a soccer team that (I think) made it to, but lost, the championships. But no one cares because hey...it's soccer. (Though maybe if they had won, they woulda gotten a bump from the whole "City of Champions" thinking)
