trade ya!
Silverman is really funny. Good article too. She has one of the more memorable (along with Bob Saget) tellings of "The Aristocrats" in the movie of the same name. The joke itself was pretty funny, but her delivery was dead on.

From what I've read, the Iraqi's don't want the US there. A lot of them are voting because they want the US out. Why not just leave?

And now that I think of it, I'll have to say. . .I don't think that Silverman's all that hot/attractive, either.
--The_Lex Tue Nov 15 11:52:48 2005
Hey, from what I've read, the Iraqi's are happy to have us there for the moment, and the reason not to leave is obvious: since we dismantled the government on which they were made dependent, they're now dependent on us, primarily for security, and we can't leave until they're self-reliant, security-wise. Most of the major operations you've been reading about for the last 8 months, and probably all of them in the future, will have an Iraqi security force element leading the US military force.

Also, you're way wrong about Sarah Silverman.

I gotta read that new Atlantic piece that says the whole "build an army in Iraq" is just not happening--and it's a prerequisite before our army can be removed.
--Kirk Tue Nov 15 12:46:35 2005
We must be reading different sources. But I have to agree somewhat from just the whole in quotes thing that Kirk said there.

I'd have to do a ton of research to come up with an alternative "solution," but I just don't see the US in Iraq, from the time it did go till now as anything good.

As for Silverman, I guess that's just opinion.

Oh wait. . .unless, of course, you have some kind of interest or investment in oil/energy or the economic war machine. For those who fit those qualifications, then yeah, being in Iraq is a good thing!

I like the "demonstrate that WE MEAN BIDNESS" / revenge for the assassination attempt on Daddy theory more than energy/military complex profiteering model.
