I'll never understand people who think the status quo was fine.

Just like I don't understand how people thought the solution was, essentially, taking the for-profit insurance companies that have been screwing everyone for so long, and mandating people to purchase from them.

well, I do kind of understand. I think the Republicans have been begging us not to throw them into the briar patch, so we did, and now they have two things they want: more profit for their corporate sponsors, and a rallying cry for right-wing voters.

Somehow I think if Romney wins, the "repeal Obamacare" imperative will suddenly melt away.

Nobody on the right is in love with the status quo of Healthcare either. But we can rightfully point out that the reason healthcare is married to your employer is because of government wage controls around the depression or WWII, I forget which this second.

By the way, if you want to get a cut from those for-profit insurance companies, the usual way is to buy into them. Insurance companies make money, sure, and that helps them have enough capital to pay out in the billions when the SHTF. And with that capital cooling its heels, most of the time, it only makes sense for them to invest some of it and make money for the people who own the company...like you.

Post-script: the Democrats have corporate sponsors, too.

As for Romney, you could be right-- he's got MASScare someone among his baggage.

.. doing it the right way?? That doesn't even make sense unless Paw has beomce governor of Mass while everyone was looking away. What one governor does for HIS state cannot be compared to what another governor does for HIS state. Each state has its own constituencies and needs .. what's right for one is not right for another. This is just another example of why Paw is not ready for primetime .. another reason is that shooting poison arrows at someone's back when you can't even defend your words to their face is very unbecoming for someone who wants to be President. Just makes you want to see the person get a real good smackdown, whether you care for Romney or not. Paw should go back under his rock.
