Me too. Something I learned in Materials Development courses. Starkness and white spaces become more important for post-puberty readers.

But is dark blue that much less stark than black?
I like the green actually. Felt more festive and happy, in general, while the starkness kinda makes me feel either neutral, serious, not wanting to make an impression, not wanting to stand out too much or something like that. And the green wasn't obnoxious, either, which is good.
You're a javascript guru, why not just have a place people can pick their own color?
heheh. I always thought giving the user choices about site layout when 99% won't care was a bit pretentious and annoying. Though I suppose having a default black and a small color selector w/ cookies to remember might be ok...though I'd probably override it for special events.

Yeah, I thought about the obnoxious level of the green right after I made my comment. I still thought there might be some kind of solid combined with pastel that could help brighten up anything. I remember at one time, I like having my windows a semi-pastel blue. . .didn't seem too obnoxious or even attention getting but kind of upbringing.

The blue threw me off. It looks okay, but I kinda liked the black/white...maybe it's because it reminds me of a newspaper.
I didn't see the green, but I quite like the black/dark blue and white.
