death is as natural as life. It's part of the deal we made.
Doesn't "meme" kind of address your reflections on a person affecting the community and society?
I like to think of myself as a materialist believer in reincarnation. Random "quote" pops into my head about how we were all stars once (interesting article I read yesterday about biggest star explosion talked about different kind of energies in a developing star spitting out the building blocks for planets. . .and eventually us). Basically, though, I like to think of myself as part of the cycle of life (and microcosmally, the interactive cycle and interdependence of animal, vegetable and mineral), in that I live off of the "fruit of the Earth," then after my death, I will feed the fruit of the Earth with my decomposing body and waste excretions.
Then I have a speculative belief in cell/atomic memory (on some level), but that reaches a level that I don't really pursue other than I fancy it. The same speculative direction also likes to think that petroleum is the blood of the Earth/Gaia.
