If you look out of the corner of your eye, it does look like Bush is trying to use the force or something to stop the second shoe.
I kind of wonder if all his PR dodging, weaving around questions and other skullduggery helped him become more physically agile, too.
It occurs to me that he'd probably been trained by the Secret Service not to catch anything thrown at him, so he might've been given the occasional lesson in ducking. That'd be a funny thing to see in person.
