I think he could be just fine. I had a pair of betas once and after a lot of copulation, the male kept mainkg bubbles at the surface for a nest. Betas have a kind of dual breathing system that allows them to breathe underwater and also take in air from the surface. I don't know why he would be mainkg a nest without having a female around. You should maybe get him a female. And you can just break a small hole in the bubble area and plunk his food in that. I also wonder why the entire surface of whatever he is in is covered, sounds like he is in a kinda of small container, maybe you should get a bigger one?2 tank mama
