Short shameful confession: when you first mentioned Ronald McDonald, I parsed it, for some reason, as Ronald Reagan. At that point, my laughter was merely polite. I thought . o O (Reagan has commercials showing his magical powers? I've gotta get cable!) And then I reread it all and got with the joke, and realized my preemptive laughter turned out to be genuine.
