Read a little on male vs. female communication. That reading pretty much said that men like to state the point first then provide the supporting stuff afterward. On the other hand, women generally like to get information as a story, have the main point last with narrative leading up to that point.

I'm not sure just how prevalent these stereotypes are, and my empirical experimenting hasn't lead to a conclusion for or against this hypothesis. I think I've had inconclusive results, however, mostly because I haven't been able to come up with good methodology.

But if the hypothesis is correct, I'm starting to think that SPAM, in general, is often rhetorically directed at women more than men.

I just needed to relieve my compulsion to get that out somewhere, and this entry seemed like a good place.
