A "fantasy" that entertains me:
What if a black hole did engulf the world, and we didn't know it?
Sure, a black hole is supposed to crush us then rip us apart then crush us more then rip us apart more, etc. etc. Still, it would be entertaining if, somehow, everything just remained intact, even though it got sucked into a black hole. After all, how much do we really know about black holes other than the readings of instruments?

We don't know much about black holes from instrument readings... I think it's more hypothesis and extrapolation, i.e. that stuff that DOES seem to jive with many of the observations we are able to make.
