I have had an upswing of stress lately, sometimes it seems embodied in my gut, but also with a sense of a part of me, somewhat independent from my main conscious sense of self, that WANTS me to be worried, that it thinks that's what's keeping me from disaster. (The psychological frame work Internal Family Sustems would say that's probably a guardian, overzealous in its attempts to keep me or some inmer part of me safe)
Today's daily doodle for my nephew embeds my latest mantra when I'm having problems sleeping. I think it kind of helps- similar to IFS when you thank a part for its diligence but also try to let it know it's ok to let go a bit.
AI Is the Bubble to Burst Them All. The headline is a little lurid but the article draws some interesting parallels to other tech bubbles, specifically radio and airplanes, back when those inventions role in society wasn't yet clear.

I've seen some other talk that the other parallel to this moment might be the 70's "Nifty 50" bubble - where you had a much wider range of people investing in value stocks that supposedly you could just buy and hold forever without worrying about it.

It's easy to freak out about, when you see how much money is in this circular loop of AI and AI supporting companies - its very likely been whats been powering the continued growth of the markets over these weird times. (And when the guys in charge are more eager to not fire the people providing bad news rather than fixing things, well...)

I guess the smartest advice if you think it will be, like, 1970s or even 1930s bad and not "Mad Max" bad, is diversify. (Which is a horrible cliche but probably the best bet). I have a financial advisor I pay a fixed yearly amount to to help keep me on a path of that sort.
