KHftCEA 1999-01.1 January CB
A new year. The last before Y2K. Dylan will probably be moving to LA to pursue Tom the Actor. It's kind of cool that he travels lighty enough to pull that off. --- "No matter how many tricks you do, you will still bore the cat." --Marmaduke --- Mo had her car radio stolen. That's not a good thing. 99-1-6 --- Sex can be so annoying at times. 99-1-6 --- "Intelligence is no impediment to stupidity" --Wayne Green --- I wonder if I should go back to the name KHftCEA... As a name it had a lot of character, though I like the sense of history "Commonplace Book" provides, even if no one gets it. 99-1-7 --- On the death of a baby racoon: "It's either mean or it's arbitrary, and either way I've got the heebie-jeebies." --Calvin --- Land of the Dead Christmas Trees- kind of morbid. 99-1-8 --- good dessert from ab initio: "florentine" 99-1-8 --- "He who fights and runs away lives to fight another day- but that's not why *I* ran away." 99-1-9 --- Binaca was more fun than altoids. Possibly less social however. 99-1-9 --- Speaking of Binaca I remember backstage during Guys & Dolls rehersals, seeing how many sguirts we could brave *under* our tongues. Almost to the point where some of us couldn't sing... 99-1-10 --- simultaneous synchronicity huzzah! 99-1-12 --- "It's Time To Party Like It's This Year!" --Jackie Harvey's "The Outside Scoop", The Onion --- Sex reminder: the a capela duet of C+C. 99-1-13 --- I'll miss Dylan if he really is California Bound. I need to strengthen my social circles. 99-1-13 --- For the past month or so I haven't been able to shake the feeling that winter consists of the Arctic forces reaching south, trying to take over our land. 99-1-14 --- "[World War I] changed the language. It made patriotic words sound hollow, unacceptable, ridiculous" --Stephen E. Ambrose, "Citizen Soldiers" --- "God damn the bastards, they got me. The hell with it." --Pvt. Jack Leonard, D-Day --- "Fuck you, Hemingway." --Pvt. Jack Crawford, Late Summer 1944 --- "Life is not for amateurs." --Mort Gerson --- "Prozac for Sharks"-inspired by Julia Novikov's Mexican Adventure 99-1-18 --- "I'm Drew Carey, God's Hackey-Sack" --- Y2K: sometimes I'm panicked, sometimes I'm just a bit uneasy. Lena things it's silly to worry as much as I do. I get the feeling this might be a very long year. Glad I have Mo along, for those reasons among many others. Once we move out of the Big Yellow House I'll do a wee bit of stockpiling in ernest. 99-1-21 --- "I think I have attention deficit whatever." --Tina the Troubled Teen --- Love is less about the perfect moments and more about how you handle the imperfect ones. 99-1-25 --- "Mobility is Nobility" --Timothy Leary --- "Winter is acommin' in, let us sing Goddamn." --Ezra Pound --- "Sisyphus has a sense of playfulness [...] you have to look at it from the rock's point of view." --Pointy Haired Boss, Dilbert (TV) --- So I finally got the GoType Keyboard working- it's like having my own little laptop again, but with a cool docking feature. Good call, Mo. 99-1-26 --- Sometimes I wonder if I'm addicted to newsgroups and surfing, or just to slacking... sometimes the urge not to move on to the next piece is just overwhelming. This is one of my biggest character flaws, I think. 99-1-27 --- "I have heard of a drinking game associated with "2001: A Space Odyssey" - You drink every time someone speaks. By the end of the movie, you are still sober." --friedman@Xenon.Stanford.EDU --- Another accident with my cute car. I stopped at an icy rotary, start to go, think better of it, get hit by a snow plow. Damn it to hell. 99-1-28 --- "Why Do You Persist In Tormenting Me So?" --Quote I Posted at IDD --- "Secular schools can never be tolerated because such schools have no religious instruction, and a general moral instruction without a religious foundation is built on air; consequently, all character training and religion must be derived from faith . . . we need believing people." --Adolf Hitler, 1933-04-26 --- |
