My original thought was to just use the brilliant design by my buddy miller - I've been using this as a banner on my tuba for years and it's so happy and bubbly...

So that's a good looking option, but that version is at least 7 colors... probably about twice as much as a monochrome print... by hand I sketched over it to make a one color version, it came out better than I expected.

I used my Figure Ground Reversal Text tool to make this - probably a bit too cold and cerebral for the band, but an option:
