Watched "The Green Mile" with Mo last night. (Moving, but long and a little heavy handed.) The thing is I remember talking to her about more than I remember who it was... (though I believe I remember who now.) 00-3-11 --- Mo got a Palm IIIc, the first color Palm. Nifty. 00-3-12 --- This day does note bode well. Spent too much on some pictures, couldn't find my belt, locked my keys in the car for the first time, will be lunching with R *and * D (there's a bad pun in there somewhere.) "Fuck you- and your untouchable face" (from the cd that helped me leave my keys behind.) 00-3-14 --- Wired article with the vi guy's essay on the obsolesence of humanity and, much more disturbingly to me, this geometrically increasing "Oops!" factor that nano-, bio-, and maybe cyber- technology will be bringing on over this next century. In particular the "grey goo" idea, and custom bacteria multiplying like clouds of pollen stick in my head as vivid images of biosphere imploding disaster. Sigh- hopefully these memes won't rush in to fill a void Y2K left behind.
